Set up an Event Series with series tickets and drop-ins
An Event Series sells series tickets that cover every session of a recurring series, with optional per-session drop-ins priced individually. A series can offer more than one series ticket tier. Setup is available to owners and admins on Pro or Ambassador teams and happens in the new-event wizard, where you choose the series dates and ticket pricing before the event exists. It must be finished before the first session starts.
Before you start
Plan and role. Only owners and admins on Pro or Ambassador teams can set up or edit an Event Series. Without access, the Event series tile shows what is blocking you: On Pro with an Upgrade to Pro button, Owners and admins, or Coming soon when Event Series is not available to you yet. For plan details, see Understanding your plan and feature access.
Two or more sessions. A series needs at least two dates, picked by pattern or by hand in the wizard. With only one date, setup is refused with the message "This series has no other dates yet, so there are no other sessions for a series ticket to cover." See Creating recurring events.
Before session 1 starts. A new Event Series cannot be created once the first session has begun.
Choose the series dates
You pick the dates in the Date & Time modal of the new-event wizard, so the series is configured before the event exists.
Open the new-event wizard from your dashboard. The New series entry takes you straight to Event Series setup.
In the Date & Time modal, select Event series ("Dates bought together"). Single date, Multiple dates, and Recurring event create ordinary events without a series ticket.
Under Dates, choose By pattern or By hand.
With By pattern, set the repeating schedule under Repeats: every week, every 2 weeks, monthly on the same weekday position, or Custom schedule… for any other pattern.
With By hand, pick each session date individually. Each date counts as one event toward your plan's event limit, so a long series can reach the limit; the wizard tells you when it does and suggests upgrading or using fewer dates.
The Event series tile is locked unless you are an owner or admin on a plan with Event Series access; it then shows On Pro, Owners and admins, or Coming soon as described above.
Set series tickets and drop-ins
The Event Series Settings section of the wizard holds the series ticket setup.
Enter Entire series tickets:. It must be a whole number from 1 up to 10,000. This is the pool every series ticket tier sells from.
Enter Total event series price:. It must be 0 or higher and lower than $1,000,000.
Turn on Allow drop-ins to also sell individual seats in individual sessions. Drop-ins only sell when a session has seats left after series ticket holders. Leave it off to sell series tickets only.
With drop-ins on, set a price for each session under Drop-in price per session. Sessions are listed as Session 1, Session 2, and so on, each with its own price field, so you can price sessions differently. A price you leave blank defaults to an even share of the total series price, rounded to the nearest cent, or to the session's ticket price when there is no series price to share. Cancelled and draft dates are listed as "Cancelled date" or "Draft date" with the note ", not part of the series ticket", while their drop-in prices can still be configured.
Finish creating the event. The Event Series is created with it, and the Event Series panel appears on the series' first-date event page.
Fix a blocked save
The fixed setup messages are:
"Number of series tickets must be a whole number of at least 1."
"Number of series tickets can be at most 10,000."
"Series ticket price must be a number of 0 or more, under $1,000,000."
If you clear a saved drop-in price: "Enter a drop-in price, or turn drop-ins off."
"The drop-in price must be a number of 0 or more, under $1,000,000."
"This series has no other dates yet, so there are no other sessions for a series ticket to cover."
Some errors name the session they apply to: a malformed or out-of-range drop-in price names the session and its date, a message about a price for a date outside the series appears below the form, a session with more than one ticket type is named in a message saying each session needs exactly one, which is its drop-in ticket, and a session selling outside the room cap is named in a message saying a drop-in has to share the room with series ticket holders.
Add more series ticket tiers
A series can sell more than one series ticket tier, each with its own name, price, and ticket limit. Tiers are added in the Series ticket types section of the Event Series panel.
In the Event Series panel, open the Series ticket types section.
Click Add ticket type.
Enter the tier's Name, Price, and Ticket Limit, then save the tier.
Each tier ticket covers every session of the series. Every type sells from the series ticket count in the panel, and each tier's Ticket Limit is an individual cap inside it. Change a tier's name, price, or limit in the Series ticket types editor in the panel; change the series ticket count only to resize the pool itself.
Saving the Event Series panel keeps every tier as configured, including a second tier and the first tier's name, ticket limit, and price. A tier's custom sale end, such as an early-bird cutoff, also stays in place when you edit the series dates. A sale end you have not customized keeps following session 1, and all series-ticket sales still close when session 1 starts.
How capacity works
Each session's room cap is shared by series tickets and drop-ins, so a session has one capacity for both. A series ticket seats its holder in every kept session, which means every series ticket consumes one seat in every kept session. Drop-ins sell only from the seats remaining after series-ticket holders are seated, so a series ticket and a drop-in can never both claim a session's last seat. For the underlying capacity controls, see Set event capacity and ticket limits.
Track sales from the panel
The Event Series panel stays on the series' first-date event page after the wizard creates the series. It shows the Event Series' status (Draft, Published, Cancelled, or Completed), live sold counts such as "X of Y sold", session seat availability, and a "View Event Series" link to the series event page, where you manage ticket types and capacity. Counts refresh about every 20 seconds and when you return to the tab.
Series-ticket sales close when session 1 starts. The panel then shows "Series ticket sales closed" with the note "Session 1 has started.", and the count and price fields are disabled.
Change or remove an Event Series
Editing happens in the same Event Series panel on the series' first date. Make your changes and click Save changes, which shows "Event Series updated". Discard changes appears when your edits differ from the saved values.
The number of series tickets cannot go below the number already sold. The error names the sold count.
After sales close at session 1, the series-ticket count and price fields can no longer be changed.
Publishing or cancelling the series carries its Event Series with it.
Deleting a session that still holds series-ticket seats is refused.
Deleting the series root removes the Event Series product with it.
An end-date change on the root of a split schedule is refused.
An Event Series cannot be duplicated. A completed or cancelled series page offers Copy link instead of duplication.
Cancelled and draft dates are listed as "Cancelled date" or "Draft date" with the note ", not part of the series ticket", while their drop-in prices can still be configured.
If your team's plan changes away from Pro or Ambassador, existing series tickets keep selling but the series cannot be created or edited until the plan has access again. The panel reads "Your series tickets keep selling, X of Y sold. Upgrade to change them."
If schedule changes leave a paid series ticket with no session left to seat it in, because every date is draft, cancelled, or deleted, the ticket is flagged and you are told. It shows an "Over capacity" badge on your attendee surfaces, and an email with the subject "Over capacity: (event title)" tells you the seat is registered and flagged so you can refund or move it from Eventually.
