How Event Ticketing Fees Work

Every event ticketing platform has a pricing model. Most charge a per ticket percentage of the ticket price plus a flat fee on every sale. The more tickets you sell, the more you pay.

Eventbrite charges approximately 3.7% of the ticket price plus $1.79 per ticket. Luma charges 5% on the free plan. Ticket Tailor charges $0.65 per ticket. Eventually charges a flat monthly subscription with no per-ticket fees at any tier. There's no Ticketmaster row in the calculator because Ticketmaster doesn't publish one rate. According to its help center, fees are set event by event

If you're selling your own classes, workshops or gatherings, the comparison that matters is a fee on every ticket against a flat price. Eventually charges a flat subscription and nothing per ticket, and checkout runs through your own Squarespace store. Your payment processor's usual card fee still applies.

How much are Ticketmaster fees? Ticketmaster doesn't publish a single rate. Its service fee is charged per ticket and negotiated event by event between the parties organizing it, including the venue and Ticketmaster. Some events add a facility charge set by the venue, and taxes and an optional delivery fee can apply on top. Since May 2025, US ticket sellers have to show the total price, fees included, before you buy.
