The Eventually Squarespace extension
The Eventually Squarespace extension fills one page of your Squarespace site with your primary calendar. It is one of three separate ways Eventually touches your site, alongside connecting Squarespace for checkout and pasting calendar embeds. This overview explains what each one does so you can decide whether you need the extension.
In the Squarespace editor, the designated calendar page shows a preview labeled Your Eventually calendar goes here. When the calendar has no events yet, you see a dashed placeholder instead. The preview is not a second live calendar or an editing surface: it is intentionally non-clickable while you edit, so Squarespace's own page controls stay available. When editing ends, the preview treatment comes off and the published site shows the live Eventually content. Store-page chips and product-page details appear as inert previews the same way, and the editor does not show the calendar launcher on them.
What the extension does
You install the extension in Squarespace, create a page yourself, and designate that page's address as the Primary Calendar Page in Eventually. The extension then fills that exact page with your primary calendar as the page's content and hides the usual calendar launcher on it. Other pages do not receive the primary-calendar takeover; they retain the extension’s normal launcher and other enhancements.
Eventually never creates or renames a page: you build the page in Squarespace first, then enter its address, such as /events-calendar, in Eventually. Matching is exact to the page path. Query strings and hashes do not affect matching, and child paths do not match the designated page.
Three separate setups
Connecting Squarespace and installing the extension are independent. You can have one, both, or neither, and there is no mode toggle between them.
Connecting Squarespace for checkout enables native checkout through Squarespace Commerce and order sync. It does not install the extension. See Connect your Squarespace site.
Installing the extension is a separate flow that lets the primary calendar take over one page of your site. It only exists on sites where it was explicitly installed: a site without it sees no change to the Calendars page in Eventually.
Pasted calendar embeds are the existing Code Block workflow. They remain additive: the extension does not replace them, and pasted embeds stay on the pages where you placed them. See Installing the calendar widget or Embedding the calendar widget on Squarespace.
So the choice is not either/or. You can keep pasted embeds on several pages and still let the extension take over one dedicated page, or use either approach on its own.
Who can set it up
You can start the Squarespace approval before you have an Eventually account: a new seller approves the extension in Squarespace first, then sets up an account on one screen. If the site already belongs to an Eventually team, an approver who goes on to create a new account joins that team as an admin when it has an owner, or as an owner when it does not, and the owners receive an email notification. An approver who signs in to an existing account instead either confirms joining the team that connects the site, or chooses between their team's current site and the newly approved one. The possible outcomes are covered in Install the Eventually Squarespace extension. Once you are on a team, only owners and admins can manage the extension and set the Primary Calendar Page. Other team members can view the setup, including the checklist and the saved page address, but cannot change it.
What happens when you disconnect
Disconnecting Squarespace stops the extension's page takeover. The extension remains listed under Connected Extensions in Squarespace until you remove it there. Pasted calendars, events, attendees, and your other Eventually data remain in place. For the full disconnect behavior, see Connecting and disconnecting sites.
Where to go next
Two how-tos in this collection walk through the setup in order:
Install the Eventually Squarespace extension covers installing the extension in Squarespace and what the setup checklist on the Calendars page walks through.
Set up your Primary Calendar Page covers creating the page in Squarespace, entering its address, and reading the setup status.
