Free events and the RSVP flow

Eventually supports free events with a simple RSVP-style registration flow. By default, free events use the RSVP flow: attendees register without going through the full Squarespace Commerce checkout process. They provide their information and receive a confirmation without payment. If you enable Record free tickets in your store for the event, eligible free registrations instead go through Squarespace Commerce as a $0 order.

How free events work

Free events in Eventually use a streamlined registration flow designed for speed and simplicity:

  • No payment required: Attendees skip the payment step and go directly to registration

  • Custom attendee questions follow your Collect details setting: Before, After, or Off. Name and email are always collected during RSVP regardless of the setting.

  • Confirmation email sent: Attendees receive a branded confirmation with their ticket details, plus a check-in QR code when QR codes are enabled for the event
