Set seat holds during checkout
Control whether an in-progress checkout reserves a spot while a buyer pays, and for how long, from the Checkout card in Settings → Payments. The setting applies to your whole team rather than to individual events, and it is available on every plan.
Before you start
Only team owners and admins can change the setting. Other team members can view the Checkout card but cannot edit it.
Set seat holds
In your Eventually dashboard, go to Settings → Payments.
In the Checkout card, find Hold spots during checkout.
Toggle it on to reserve a spot while someone pays, or off to make spots first come, first served.
When holds are on, set Hold a spot for to a whole number between 5 and 60 minutes.
Click Save.
What each state does
Holds on: When someone starts checkout, their spot is set aside so a second buyer cannot take it while they pay. An unfinished checkout releases the spot automatically after the hold period.
Holds off: Spots are first come, first served. A spot is taken only when payment finishes, so two people can be paying for the last spot at the same time and the second one is told it's gone.
Defaults and scope
Existing teams keep holds enabled at the 60-minute default until a host changes the setting. Changing the setting updates availability across the event page, calendar widget, and series views without shortening a buyer's own checkout.
The hold period is separate from the lifetime of an incomplete checkout record. Turning holds off frees the seat for other buyers; it does not shorten the holder's checkout.
